According to Komatsu, the design process of PC20E-6 fully draws on valuable experience obtained from operating data of diesel excavators of the same scale for over 40000 working days. Through in-depth analysis of global customer usage patterns, Komatsu found that in 90% of mini excavator application scenarios, the actual working time of the equipment per day does not exceed 3.5 hours. This discovery provides important data support for the technical specification and performance target setting of PC20E-6. Komatsu adopted a relatively conservative but practical technical approach in the design of PC20E-6. The 23.2 kWh battery capacity combined with an 11 kW high torque motor may not be as impressive as some competitors on paper, but this configuration fully considers the balance between cost control and practical application needs.
As stated by Komatsu's official statement, "This sets the goal for the reliable working time required for excavators. This result enables Komatsu to provide a machine at an attractive price that fully meets the performance requirements." This pragmatic design concept reflects Komatsu's deep understanding of market demand and emphasis on product practicality. The 4-hour continuous operation capability means that PC20E-6 can meet 90% of the operational needs analyzed by the company for 40000 working days, which fully proves the feasibility and practicality of this product in practical applications.
